  • No, you may not close the doors to the library when the library is open!

This happens somewhat frequently at the library. We have a small room off to the side of the main room where people are allowed to have group study sections to talk. It is also where we house our 000s, 100s, and 200s, so it is PART OF THE LIBRARY.

You may not close the doors to form your own private little lounge to chat. And do not ask me why when I say the doors must remain open. IT'S NOT YOUR LIBRARY! (Also students will see the closed door, think a class is going on in there, and then crowd the main room).

    That's annoying.

also drives me nuts when people go into rooms that they shouldn't, ie "Staff Only". We had this one "room" that is just 3 partitions next to the window. The room was the "Access Center for the visual and hearing impaired." We had some machines that will read texts and also computers for the visual impaired. Unfortunately, the ledge to the window didn't allow the wall to connect to the window. So peopl would constantly slide in and use the computer, or the typewriter we kept for our use their. And the managers won't say anything to the people when that happens. How hard is it to say, "You are blind or deaf? No? Get out." ok, there is a polite way to say it but it was in their right to deny access but they were afraid that the tresspassers would complain.
Time! Time! Time is what turns kittens into cats.

Don't teach me a lesson; all I learn is that you are an asshole.

    I wish porn had subtitles.

So, are these doors supposed to be closed never, or rarely ever? Just put a screw-eye in the door and one in the wall, add a little chain and a small padlock.
