But I'm telling you, I have the correct number! I dialed 867-5309!
I KNOW THERE IS SOMEONE THERE NAMED JENNY AND I WANT TO TALK TO HER, DAMNIT!!!!
or you could have given him a phone number from the cover of one of Van Halens older (first couple of disks) albums (can not remember which album though) it used to be one of the band members old phone number. I think the cover was a bunch of caulk scribblings or something
I'm lost without a paddle and headed up SH*T creek.

who wants to place bets that he's gonna go to the restaurant he tried to call and complain that the guy answering the phone's an idiot?
I had a friend whose home number was the same as a takeaway restaurant, apart from two transposed digits.

While I was round there one night his phone rang - his side of the conversation

      "Hiya, XXX here"
"Ah, you've got the last two digits the wrong way round - it's NNNNN NNN NNM, not NNNNN NNN NMN"
      "Uh huh"
      "Uh huh"
      "Uh huh"
      "Uh huh..."
      "No, come round straight away"

I get a lot of calls for Wallie World our numbers are only off by one digit. I am always amazed at how many people don't believe me when I tell them that I'm not a store.

Wonder if he dialed from a cell phone, I know mine doesn't have numbers to each letter. (go full QWERTY!) but still, if you've been told its not the right number, try again oi.
I don't know what type of phone you use, but at least LG phones if you dial the letter the phone will automatically dial the corresponding number.
          Useful trick to know.

Ah, that makes sense. I thought you were TTY, I've now been corrected.
Yeah, TTY is a TeleTYpe machine, it is actually borrowed technology from the military (it's a variation of how they used to send messages to submarines since it allowed for easier coding than verbal communication)
Now, you could theoretically use a TTY machine to connect with a relay operator to interpret, but if you see a number listed as a TTY number it is a direct TTY to TTY connection... and most relay companies have shied away from TTY because the technology is so slow and out of date now.
