GTA and Doom kill people. Ace Attorney ruins marriages.
It was a pretty typical day at my night audit, and just the way I liked it. Then about 3:00 or so a gentleman comes up to us because his wife had been missing for a few hours and he had just found her car in our parking lot. Naturally I don't give out guest information, so we waited until a cop showed up before I did anymroe work.
We went through all of my reg cards hoping to get a matching plate number. Too many people left that information blank, so that turned up fruitless.
We then accessed the security tapes, and were unable to find anything before the time I came in. Officer looks at the clock on the computer and casually mentions "hmm 4:30 already" Just a little bit later I see my cell phone and it's not that late.
"Why would the officer comment on an incorrect time?" EUREKA!! I decided to check the footage for the extra hour. We got a match and they were checking in just as I was coming in to relieve the afternoon shift. We send the husband behind the counter to ID the woman who matched the description he gave us. He gave us a positive ID and she was checking in with another man.
Yep, because of the intuition I developed from playing the Ace Attorney games, I helped end a marriage. Otherwise that footage may have been overlooked.
