    Day Old Coffee

Okay so this customer, who I think is a low-life anyway comes in and asks to see my co-worker, I'm thinking Okay good, I don't have to serve you then. So he tells my co-worker that last night his coffee had no sugar and to top that all off, he brought the day old coffee in to show my co-worker! I'm thinking why the hell did this guy save his coffee from last night? He asked for a new coffee and my co-worker didn't charge him. Either the customer is crazy or he's smart. I don't know.

    This isn't logical

Okay this happened today. I didn't help this customer but apparently her child came in and bought a small hot chocolate, which costs $1.73 and I guess the child apparently gave $2. Enter angry mother who comes back like I don't know, 10 minutes later and tells my coworker that she gave him $3.00. She wanted a dollar back. My co-worker gave it to her since she was angry and it was busy. I'm thinking that it's not logical to hand in $3 for a small hot chocolate since it's $1.73. Stupid lady.

And I was supposed to know this...how?
Customer orders small iced coffee. He tells me one equal and milk. I make the iced coffee and he asks me, "Where is the whipped cream and caramel?" I said, "This is an iced coffee. That's a caramel iced latte." So I had to waste the iced coffee and make a caramel iced latte instead. How I was supposed to know that? I swear humanity is getting lazier and stupider each day.

You're TOO right about that. It's almost gross how lazy people can be.

In defense of the firdt guy, he's probably been burned before on the "if it wasn't right, you shouldn't have eaten the whole thing" line that some places go. Being that money is money, he probably wanted not to waste any and brought it back in as his proof to get it fixed.

In my s-bux days, I'd say at least 10-15% of all customers had no idea what they were ordering and had to have their drinks remade. I just got used to it after a while.. and started to anticipate when the customer didn't know what they were ordering (i.e. kids ordering "cappuccinos" when they meant "frappuccinos," etc.)

um, no; next time, make them wait for a till audit. if it's really that important, they'll be willing to wait and a scammer will bail instantly.

i've been yelled at for making what someone ordered; a green tea latte (which imo, is some nasty stuff) and the bitch proceeds to throw a fit, saying this isn't what she ordered, how dare i give her the wrong drink, cheesewhinecrackers...after i pointed out what she ordered and proceeded to tell her what the drink was, she wanted to call the manager on me.

too bad that wasn't my store i was working at; i told her to feel free to do so and walked off.
          look! it's ghengis khan!
Sorry, but while I can do many things, extracting heads from anuses isn't one of them. (so sayeth the irv)

Green macha powder and milk... disgusting. No idea how people could drink that. Worse yet, the "iced" version, wherein the powder wouldn't dissolve, (although another barista showed me a trick) so you'd get a layer of green slime at the bottom of your drink. Gross.

i agree; not only was it nasty, it smelled bad-like rotting grass. one of the worst drinks ever *cringes.*

to this day, i still have no idea what she was after, since she threw her tantrum right after the fact, which eliminated any desire to help her further.

                I can sympathize w/the iced coffed/latte thing.

well... vicariously. As my gf works @ tim hortons and has told me that DAILY people order hot chocolates and then bitcha nd moan that it 'didn't come w/whipped cream and chocolate sprinkles'

                A. that's extra money so they have to shell out like 20 cents or whatever for it if they want it.

                B. NOT standard so if they don't ask for it they don't get it (shocker I know).

                C. I blame the god damn tv comercials lately talking about a cafe mocha like it's a new item (been on their menu for years and years and years lol) BUT it shows the damn thing with whipped cream and sprinkles therefore lame brains who can't hear properly and read properly or speak or think properly get to bitch @ my gf for 'making it wrong'

and yea i've told her (the gf) to join this site as she has a large amount of CS worthy stories but she hasn't... so if i hear any good ones through her i'll throw em on the board :P
Common sense... So rare it's a goddamn superpower.

It annoys me though. I end up wasting my time and a drink. If you don't know or are confused about what to order then ASK ME and I'll help you find out what you are looking to order. Geez...Then they make it seem it's my fault for getting it wrong.

But you supposed to know what they want, even if they they don't tell you.
