I sold a Lego set on Amazon. Barely broke even after all the fees, but that's my own fault; to be honest I'm just happy to get old inventory out. Not particularly heavy, but large and awkward (their 'shipping allowance' didn't even cover half of what it actually cost--$7 to ship 7 pounds?--but that's another rant).
I was working for the day following the "sold" notification (of course it came in at 10 PM), so wasn't able to ship but it was packed and ready to go. Not 24 hours after the sale, I get a snippy email "I need this for a gift"...the buyer didn't specify they needed expedited shipping. When a buyer chooses Expedited I try my best to get it out within 24 hours. The only requirement for Standard shipping is that I ship within a reasonable timeframe (I try to stick to "two business days", but sometimes life gets in the way and I get it out on day three).
I confirmed shipment on Thursday, thinking I'd be able to get to the post office. That wound up not happening; however I did send it Fedex Ground on Friday (ended up cheaper and faster than USPS). Sold on Tuesday, shipped on Friday, delivered on Saturday; ahead of the original estimate.
I get an email timestamped after buyer received the box: "I must say I am upset. You confirmed shipment before you actually shipped the item and that is unacceptable (oooohhhh I HATE that word!)" So I'm supposed to predict if a circumstance might prevent me from getting to the post office?
You still received the thing within Amazon's estimate in the condition stated.
