Day job story

Every job in a particular city has to have forms filled out by the engineer of record. This is a newish requirement, and some customers have missed it, and are getting in trouble for it.

These forms require the engineer send an inspector to inspect every piece on the job.

A job we finished in October is having problems because these forms were not done, and they're trying to do them after the fact.

They told us to fill them out.

We refused since it says right on the form that the manufacturer cannot fill them out.

Customer goes to engineer and Architect for advice.

Architect tells me that if we don't do it he's going to report us to the Building Department and have them "investigate" us.

We pointed out the specific paragraph and line that says WE CANNOT FILL IT OUT

Architect hasn't responded yet oddly.

Customer did, asking what he can do now, we showed him on the forms where instructions are given on this.

But really, first thing you come up with is threaten us? Like we have something to hide anyway? Please bring them here.

Ah, yes I love how everyone wants to sue over the smallest thing.

We often get people threatening to call a lawyer because we CAN'T give out free air and the machine costs $0.75, I mean really Um Even if your lawyer works for minimum wage your going to pay 10X that just for him to talk to you for 10min and write us a nasty letter.

Bonus points for you pointing out exactly where it says that YOU CAN'T fill out the paperwork and they still insist it, which I think somehow would land you in trouble

Wow, so quick to try and cause trouble! I don't understand the logic. I always try to create a good rapport with anyone that I need something from as they are always more inclined to be helpful to the best of their ability if they like me!
