  • Freeloaders!!

This is the exact transcription of a voicemail my friend received by a freeloading customer at their restaurant. Nothing has been changed, everything here is in her own words.

"While I was eating my food, they were sweeping under my feet and I said I didn't like that. I went to the manager and said I didn't care for it and he said, "I'm sorry, it won't happen again." That was about it. I thought he could have done more. I thought he might have offered me a return visit at his expense. Something a little bit more than, "I'll talk to her about it". That's all.

These kinda people deserve nothing given to them!

How much you want to bet that the SC had dropped something under the table and ASKED for it to be swept up!?

When my best friend was a waiter a few years back, I was thinking about becoming one to earn a little extra cash. After seeing what he had to put up with, I was extremely happy that I didn't get that job, and I felt very sorry for him.
The thing that irks me the most is when they tell the waiter everything is fine, and then they go up to management (after eating most of the meal) and complain, and these "Morons in management" are actually stupid enough to give them their money back, or a voucher, or sometimes even both. They need to realize when people are trying to scam them. If someone has a problem with their order, well that's what the waiter is for, dumbass! If you don't tell them, they can't fix the problem. But of course these people are just looking for a free meal.
Being on the flip side of things, me and my best friend did go to a restaraunt once (a place which we visit often) And got terrible service. They took forever to get someone over to take our order, even after we had alerted someone, our food took twice as long to come out than it should've, it didn't taste that great, the waiter failed to check up on us even once, and we even saw another employee standing right there where customers could see him and talking on his cell.
Well we both felt we should've gotten a discount on the meal (I ask for a discount and not a free meal because I don't want to make it look like I'm trying to get a free meal) and when I asked the manager, "What can you do for us to make this right?", he replied, "My personal promise that this won't happen again". And I could tell he was the cheap type manager and that I was not about to get a discount, so we both left. And yes, I am 100% positive that I wasn't a sucky customer.

And after you left, the waiter said, "Hey! What's with the crummy tip?!" Because as we all know sucky people, be they customers or in service, have no understanding of cause and effect. Or, as I like to call it, Causin' Effects.

And anyway, what's this about "sweeping under your feet?" It sounds like taking the broom and shoving it right under the chair, all around in your personal space, and if that's the case she has a right to be pissed off, which is why I don't believe her at all- she wasn't pissed off, just miffed. And even if that were the case, it's barely worth a free drink or dessert. Yeesh.
