A guy calls bitching that he figured up his rate with tax and it was $9 less than what we charged him. I was not about to argue with him over $9 so I told him we would just credit him the $9. Easy enough, right? Nope. He wanted me to make sure his calculations were correct, research it, and then call him back. I went ahead and credited him the $9 anyway and the asshole called back a few weeks later bitching that we gave him $9. He demanded that I consult with accounting and make sure he is due the $9. I put him on hold and pretended to call accounting and told him he was indeed due the $9. He asked for my name and the name of the person in accounting and said I was only giving him the $9 to shut him up and that's not good customer service. I haven't heard from him again yet.

Wow! He calls to bitch that you overcharged him...you give him the benefit of the doubt and give him the money back and he argues with you over your decision stating that it is not "good customer service"? Wow. The stupid is strong with this one. I bet that if you would've taken the time to "research" the situation and found out he was wrong, he'd pull the "customer is always right" BS on you and say that you are offering "bad customer service"."I'm still walking, so I'm sure that I can dance!" from Saint of Circumstance - Grateful Dead

On days when tips are not very impressive, I have been known to utter another one of my favorites, which I believe is unique to me:
"It seems the Zodiac is in the sign of the Cheap today."
My coworkers are often amused by me.
"The Customer Is Always Right...But The Bartender Decides Who Is Still A Customer."

You should've given $4.50 and called it even.
