Way to get arrested...

So a couple days ago one of our company vehicles was damaged by a hit and run in a parking lot. Basically someone backed up and struck our parked van, causing damage, and then left the scene.

So today, a woman calls us saying she wants compensation for her broken tail light because she backed into one of our vans and 'by gum, ya'll are gonna pay for it!'

So we got her info, and a very happy officer went and arrested her. She's getting criminal charges filed against her for hit and run and damage of company property (apparently she admitted she backed into the van on purpose because she was mad we disconnected her service).

Then called to get the damage to her vehicle paid for
and admitted to intentionally causing the incident?

I have no idea. I believe she was disconnected for nonpayment. Thing is, if she hadn't called us to demand we pay for her damage, there is no way in heck we would ever have found out who damaged the van.

Ahhhh..... I feel another flashback coming on...
When I was working for the city council, in the car parks division (aka Hell) our Marketing Manager was most interested one day to receive a letter from a woman, asking for the name of the council's insurers. She stated that she intended to pursue a claim against us for damage done to her car by an automatic barrier at one of our multi-storey car parks. Why was it our fault? Because there were no signs telling people to wait until the barrier rose up before driving forward.
After we had all laughed until we were sick, the manager wrote a nice letter back to this woman, commending her for her honesty in owning up to hitting our barrier with her car, and telling her that our insurers would be getting in touch with her themselves in order to make our claim for damage caused to council property...... I wonder how much her premiums went up after that?
