I got lost in all those phone calls. Who did they think you were, Commander Uhura?

Good lord. That is just...Too much. And how is bringing the girl the item in question "no help at all"?

and it didn't occur to the daughter to just go to the service desk and ask, I suppose? What a couple of idiots.... On the plus side, there's proof it's hereditary!

Well heck, we already know that.

Back on topic, I hope your manager took the SC's complaint with a grain of salt and didn't get you in trouble. You went out of your way to help Dumb and Dumber find something, only to have her say you were "no help at all"?! Offer her the Seafood Special:

Why didn't you just tell them to go to the service desk for help without having to endure all that? What idiot calls a store while in the damn store itself????

What you should really be asking is who calls home from the store to have them call the store to help you find something?

This reminds me of the time when I worked in the ID Office at my University. I would have parents call half way across the country asking what their kid should do about getting a replacement ID card. More often then not, the kid's dorm was right next to the student services building (the place where students can go to get their fracking questions answered!) There comes a time when you need to cut the cord, folks. Let the kid grow up and find out things on his or her own!!

I confess I haven't seen the movie, but everything I can tell suggests that it's basically The Marching Morons with somewhat better science. (It was good science back when the story was written). In that story, the main character is severely chastised when he arrives in the future, because he, by not having kids, is part of the problem. Smart people having kids staves that future off.

It's worse than that. C2 (the daughter in the store) called Mom (C1, NOT in store) and had HER call the store and relay message back and forth. Repeatedly.

The worst thing is, they're apparently permitted to spawn...
