  • Can we have a pool, Dad? Can we have a pool, Dad?

    Short one this time.

SC: Do you guys have a pool.
    Me: I'm afraid we don't.
SC: I came here before and you guys had a pool
Me: We've never had a pool.
    SC: You used to.

          I had something similar yesterday

Old bag rings up saying her friend told her we have a number that you can call to check on road conditions (we don't and haven't in the time I've been here). So I give her the transport department's number. 10 minutes later, I get the old bag again saying that they're closed and that her friend told her we have a number that you can call to check on road conditions and demands I find it for her (has she heard of the phone book, or directory assistance).

Not wanting to sound unhelpful (although tempted to tell her to call directory assistance), I go back on the transport department's website to find a number (I don't even know if such a number exists). Before I get the page up, she's hung up!
