And as for the gold foil headphones. Gold is a very good conductor of heat. Since I have the book RIGHT here (I had to move my hand about 30 cm to pick it up), I can tell you that the heat conductivity is 317 W/(m K). Currently in Iqaluit the temperature is 3 degrees.
I highly doubt any actual gold is involved. You'd be better off with the furry ones. -.-

Granted, we don't sell the furry ones. Though we do sell a hot pink vinyl version. Oh, and its $130, sorry. Its the cheaper black and gold ones that are $70. Full on colourblind pimp mode would run you $130.

Quite possibly not, but they actually use real gold more often than you'd expect. It's the easiest material to lay a really thin layer of, so it's often cheaper to use a really thin layer of gold than to use the thinnest possible material of an imitation.

And warm clothing frequently looks ugly.

So... I love Skullcandy's really cheap small headphones and earbuds since they're a decent deal. But those... those are ugly and I've seen them in person on the NYC subway. The guy wearing them was dressed in a seemingly unrelated black suit. I only remember him because he was batting at the air around himself and screaming at the (nonexistent) pigeons to get out of his house. Yeeeah.

I use Grado Labs SR60i's as my regular every day headphones, and they reproduce all frequencies fairly well, but have a mid range frequency drop in response, somewhere between 800MHz and 5KHz. Granted, they cost me $80, so I don't expect perfect reproduction. I just avoid songs that revolve around that range. :-P

800MHz?!? What kind of freaky high gain antennas to do have for ears?

Had a customer I was helping give me that line yesterday. I just kind of stared a moment and waited for him to realize he was being an asshole, he broke before I did.

LOL Back in the mid 90s I worked for Naval submarine Medical Research as a guinea pig for a study where I sat all day and listened for pings embedded in white pink and brown noise. I halted the study one morning because of a random noise in the generated tone. Turns out the multimillion dollar pure tone generator had died and they were generating the tones using a PC. I was hearing the 60 cycle carrier wave that was also being loaded into the wires by the power source on the PC they jacked into the system. I also hear dog whistles =)

SC: “I can’t find where I’m suppose to park. It says the parking lot is at the back of the building. But I can’t find the back of the building.”
Me: “You......can’t find the back of the building?”
                      SC: “Yeah.”

That’s actually kind of impressive. I mean, the standard building has 4 sides and amazingly enough, all 4 are perfectly reachable simply by going around the building in a circle. I’m not entirely sure how you managed to fail at this endeavour. Hmmm….allow me to consult Google Maps and see if this is some sort of mutant Colosseum like the Vancouver Public Library…..nope. No that’s a pretty standard looking building….well maybe the parking lot is hidden….nope, there’s a parking lot at the back and even an entrance to an underground parkade.
So I went to Google Image Search to see if I could find a picture of this library building. After staring in wonder and fascination for a few moments, all my speech centers were capable of generating were the words, "Wow, really?"

Is...is there a LAWN on top of that thing? ...Who mows it? ...How do they get the mower up there?

                      Oh Wow

They’ve done it. They’ve finally done it. <Northern Serving Client> now stocks a product so offensively ridiculous that I honestly think I would have to smack anyone I saw wearing it. Upside the back of the head. Than demand to know what the hell they were thinking when they actually paid money for it.

                      Behold:

(Image snipped so as not to multiply the horror)

Yes, that’s right. It’s a pair of gold foil headphones. Gold foil. Finally, headphones just as awful as your taste in music.
Have you ever seen something in a catalog that is just so unbelievably atrocious, so tacky, such an insult to the senses and the sensibilities, so shocking in its degree of audacity, that you simply must own it?

A beer mug big enough to bathe in, for instance. A telephone in the shape of a cheeseburger. Truck Nuts. Baconnaise.

...I think I need to own these headphones.

                      Love, Who?

Gazing upon these sort of brings back memories from watching "Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom." As if they're used in some sort of Aztec ritualistic sacrifice that involves gorging on the hearts of innocents...so you could listen to ColdPlay. Kaalli mmaaall...
