I think I have a new pet peeve.

This is a common trend that I've noticed happening for quite some time, but it's never really bothered me until now for some reason. I'd get the following phone conversation at least once a shift.

Me: Opening Spiel
SC: How much are your rooms?
Me: (quotes price)
SC: *click*

Seriously, is it really that difficult for thanking me for the info?

We get this all the time here at the bank.

People will call and ask for the hours or rates, I'll be very polite and try and explain everything to them but they always hang up on me before I have a chance.

Drives me nuts too.

I deal with these types all the time.

They seem to have the attitude that it is not worth their while to say "thank you" for anything that doesn't directly benefit them or to someone who has no power to affect something they might want in the futre. An anonymous phone call, therefore, is the perfect setting for them to speak with people.

Then there are the type who cannot edit what they say, and therefore think if they gave any reply, they would have to endure the humiliation of explaining that the room rate is too much for their budget (a simple "oh, thank you" is not fathomable to them), so the hang up is all they can think of doing in response to the information.
