  • Uh, yes I can

So today I am walking the perimeter of the store, checking on some displays. I see a abandoned shopping cart with maybe a half a dozen non-perishable item it it. Nothing out of the normal. However this cart is parallel against the wall, blocking a emergency exit complete with lighted EXIT sign above the door and a huge sigh right on the door "EMERGENCY EXIT DO NOT BLOCK"

Me: *pushes cart away from door*
SC: *running up* Hey, yoooouuuu!!! Youu! What are you doing with my cart!!!? You can't touch it.
Me: I'm sorry Ma'am but it was left in front of a emergency exit.
    SC: so?
Me: Well, it is illegal to block a emergency exit. If we need to evacuate in a emergency every second counts.
    SC: Well what could happen?
    Me: Well, a fire.
SC: So. You have other doors?
Me: Ma'am I not going down thsi road. It was left blocking a emergency exit, which need to be kept clear at all times.
SC: Well, uh, my HUSBAND is FIREMEN and I think I know what I am talking about. Besides It was NEVER near a exit. *stomps off*

    Lets hope they don't breed.

Wow, what a loon that woman was. Why on earth did she leave her cart there like that anyway?

Maybe it was near the restroom?

Nope. The restrooms were maybe 50-75 feet away, I didn't see them come from that direction either.

As the proud daughter of a retired firefighter, I am doubly appalled.

Maybe she meant her husband is a firestarter?

If I were her husband, I'd want as many exits available as possible.

He hasn't found the exit that leads away from her yet.

But she keeps blocking the exits.
