Today I worked the opening shift. And Sunday mornings are crazy. Slow as can be until like 10:30 then slammed until mid afternoon.
So at one point I'm on the second register up front because I was out of change at the main register and my manager was on the phone with someone so she couldn't get me change. Of course I have a line because there's no place else for co workers to check out customers. This lady comes through my line and right off is condescending to me. And she asks about a particular brand of toilet paper and do we have some in stock. My manager happens to come by to put the change in the main register and I ask her to check. While my manager goes to check the customer sees a display of toilet paper 20 feet away and just leaves. She doesn't run over to the display, grab some tp and hurry back. She looks at the candy and nuts on display by the main register, walks causally over to the tp and looks at it more closely, then slowly walks back. And she's not walking slow because she can't physically walk fast. No she's taking her dear sweet time.
Meanwhile a second lady comes up to my register about the time first lady starts heading to the tp. And she gives me a "Wtf?" face. And one of my co workers is able to take customers in the cosmetic area so many of the people behind the second lady go over there. But the second lady has already unloaded her cart and is stuck waiting.
Several times while we wait on the first lady I catch the second lady rolling her eyes at the rudeness of the first lady.
When the first lady finally makes it back to my register she decides she wants some of the nuts she glanced at a moment ago and steps back over to the main register to get them. And she finally gone.
The second lady was really nice about it. And was quite complimentary towards my not getting visibly annoyed.
Anyways yeah that's just one of the stories for today.
We sold out of one kind of pen before my shift ended at 3. Though I wasn't able to clock out till just before 3:30.
