When I worked at the discount tobacco store, I was threatened by a teenage boy who was upset that I wouldn't sell him a blunt without ID. And because I would not sell it to his friend who came in with him and who I saw him hand one to after I refused to sell to him.

At my current job, I was threatened by a customer who was mad because I would not refund his debit card. Our contract specifically says that if an account becomes delinquent we can charge any credit or debit card they have used on their account to bring it current. It was a Friday night and I was working alone. He kept calling and making more threats, so I finally began just picking up and immediately disconnecting each time I saw his name & number on caller ID. It took him about 45 minutes to realize that I was not going to answer any more of his calls.

I've been threatened with bodily harm a number of times but the only actual death threat I ever got was at the call center.

Some idiot who was three months behind on his bills threatened to kill me if I didn't "cut his phone back on right fuckin' now" I refused and he said. "You and you coworkers will be sleeping permanently if you don't, I'll search the whole fucking country to find you if I have to."

I just cut off the call. The stupid thing is the call center wasn't even in the same country he was calling from so he could have looked everywhere in the country for me but never would have found me!

Lots of threats of bodily harm at the amusement park though only a couple death threats. Each time it was for throwing somebody out because they were throwing up gang signs on the coaster photos. Small wonder I took to dating the security guys and got a reserved parking space in the managers lot instead of the employees lot.

They always seem to think they can intimidate me. I don't care who you are, homey, I can kick your ass out of here and I have lots of friends and relatives who think I'm too cute to lose. And several of them are cops and lawyers.

Though, I have to say, one of the death threats turned out to be kinda funny/creepy. Spoiled white kid who was a multiple offender with a season pass. They're supposed to take those away when they throw the kids out. Well, found out that his grandmother kept buying him a new one every time they took it away. How do I know this? Well, because she was my husbands grandmother as well. Yep, a couple years after throwing him out regularly for a summer, I met him over Thanksgiving dinner. I thought it was hilarious until a couple years later he took a swing at me and threatened to kill me again when he was drunk/high. Yeah, not so funny now.

I worked in a call center for a car manufacturer. One customer called in about a problem he'd been having. It was one of those where the customer would notice it while driving around but the dealership couldn't duplicate it when the car was brought in to the repair shop and so couldn't find the problem.

Well, he threatened to come into the dealership with a gun and shoot everybody if they didn't find what was wrong with his car and fix it.

I was so mad because my supervisors forbade me from putting that down in the call log.

Huh. I never thought about getting thrown out for that; guess if it's offensive though. Did it apply to people flashing or making rude gestures too?

Death threats at an amusement park; that's just sad.

Amusement park was in the middle of a large city with rival gangs. We were private property and neutral territory. Absolutely NO gang activity was tolerated. We were not about to have a turf war on the property. Kill each other somewhere else, please. The strictness of the policy was because somebody was knifed on the property for being part of a rival gang and throwing gang signs on the coaster photos.

If you flipped off the camera, you were warned and the picture was deleted. If a woman (over 18) flashed her boobs, again, warned the first time and picture was deleted after a print was made to document the incident with the warning. If it happened again, you were out. If a girl (under 18) did it, picture was deleted and they were escorted off the property. Security usually called their parents to come pick them up and tell them why they were being kicked out.

The one time we had boys (seriously, 13 and 14 year olds) flash their, ahem, genitals at the camera, they did it at the provocation of one of my employees. They were escorted out, the church group they were there with was notified, their parents were called and my employee was fired on the spot.

No death threats here. I did have one *complete* nutjob tell me that if I wanted to fly to meet her halfway she'd beat me up. XD And when I told her to please refrain from childish insults she said she wasn't a child because she was 57.

That whole saga made me about die laughing, but I've never posted it here as it has nothing to do with customers of my business.

I can't even begin to count how many death threats I've received.

In retail I got a lot of 'em because I don't speak spanish and I'm somewhat hispanic.

So far in little more than a month into my new job I've got quite a few from inmates, but that's almost expected.

When I worked in call center from h-ll I was off on 9-11 but some jack ass got pissed that a lot of tow companies werent taking calls or had long wait times so he called in a bomb threat. Needless to say that didnt go far since we had his information where he was and all. But still was evacuated from building for a couple of hours.
Also while working at the call center had some biotch whose car was broken down in a gas station that was literally down the street from the house I grew up in got mad because I wouldnt send out a tow truck driver immediately threatened to come to the call center to kick my @$$. My response? Need directions lol

I've been yelled at quite a few times but actually threats have been few.

One was for turning in a dog fighter. He came in with a completely emaciated bitch (using that in it's proper meaning) that had severe wounds all over her body. He claimed it was from trying to break out of her crate. Nope, those are bite wounds which do not look like crate wounds. Oh and then he mentions how they had just bred her and were hoping she was pregnant. Hmm, bet I can tell you where the wounds came from.

The guy ended up refusing care for the dog. That's actually a good thing because if they refuse care it's easier to call animal control on them and get charges to stick. If it was a case of just an injured dog that would be one thing but there was obvious ongoing abuse and neglect here.

Cop came down and we filled out a report and the guy got all his dogs confiscated and arrested. His buddies came down the next day and we had to lock the doors and call the cops.

The second time was sad and bizarre. A puppy came in to get neutered. We had just taken him out of the crate in the back to do pre-op blood work and put a catheter in when he began coughing up blood. Despite all our efforts to stop it we were unable to and he died just minutes later.

Obviously the owner was called immediately and was very upset, as is to be expected. He showed up and ran into the back demanding to see the dog. The pup was in the surgery area with a tech who was cleaning him up from all the blood. The guy started out upset but okay. The problems began when we tried to explain what had happened. The puppy had bled out from it's lungs. Since we literally had done nothing put pick it up we were at a loss as to what could have happened. One possibility would have been that it had gotten into rat poison which can cause bleeding like that.

When the vet suggested the rat poison scenario the guy FLIPPED. He started throwing things and punching walls in the surgery room. The tech who had been cleaning up the pup was stuck in there and couldn't get out. We had to call the cops.

Normally I'd have much more sympathy but something was really off about all of this. At one point we offered to pay to have a necropsy done at Cornell University which is one of the very top vet schools in the country. The guy absolutely refused and so we offered to pay to have the dog sent anywhere he wanted for a necropsy which was also refused. Meanwhile the guy is yelling that he wants to know what happened and what did we do to kill the dog. Since we literally did NOTHING except pick it up something odd was going on.

We did get a call from him months later that he had a necropsy done and the dog died from a "drug overdose". Well, in that case you better start looking at what is laying around your house since we hadn't given the pup anything. Of course no one said that but I'm still calling this whole thing highly suspicious. If my dog died at a vet and a necropsy revealed it was due to a "drug overdose" I'd have that vet up on charges ASAP. This guy has done absolutely nothing except threaten us.

                        Say waaaaahhhh?

Was he trying to shake you down for money over the puppy? 'Cause it sounds to me like he knew something you didn't.

Of course, if the puppy got into Grandma's coumadin, that would also count as a "drug overdose."

                        I smell a rat.

Hmm. I must be either very lucky, very skilled, some kind of weird aberration or a bizzare combination of all three, because while I seemed to have an innate ability to piss off customers unintentionally, I have never recieved a death threat.

It could be because I'm 6'2" and have a naturally scowled face of course

Haven't been threatened with bodily harm, but I did it to a guy once who said my husband should smack my smart mouth, Luckily, I wasn't at work, per se.

I was never threatened personally, but my manager had a customer threaten to "kick his ass" when he wouldn't let him in when he showed up after we'd closed up for the night.

Can I Help Your A$$? One Italian guy told my husband that my husband wasn't a real Italian because he didn't keep me in my place by beating me. You can imagine how well that went. I still tease my husband about not being a real Italian.

As a debt collector, I occasionally got death threats by people who didn't want to pay their bill for what ever reason. I would tell them that I had their full information and I would contact their local police dept and I always had an armed escort at work. We never had anyone show up.
