  • if you're drunk you don't need more!

This happened yesterday and I got to hear about it today.

A woman came into the store, steaming drunk, to buy beer. Naturally she was refused so she flew into a rage. So much so that she pushed one of the checkout girls and then tried to throw the customer desks computer monitor at her.

The girl who was pushed isn't going to press charges as the drunk woman lives close to her and this is an area that really does not take kindly to "grasses". It's a shame but everyone can understand why she has chosen not to.

"Grasses" This is either a euphemism or racial slur I've never heard of before. What does it mean?

Grassing up someone is an English term for informing on someone, usually the police. Someone who does it is known as a grass.

Thank you for that. Will add that one onto my list of English phrases. In the US we typically call those people "snitches."

Thank you! I finally understand what Ace (Sophie Aldred) meant when she called that one Sgt in the Doctor Episode "Remembrance of the Daleks" a "Dirty, stinking grass!"

I never understood that one until now.
