  • Seriously ma'am?

Last night at the hardware store o' blue myself and 2 co-workers are standing in the loading dock waiting for the manager on duty to come and unlock the rolling door so we can start unloading the truck.

The dock is easily accessible from the sales floor (sadly) but there's pallets and freight everywhere, a gate across saying "do not enter", etc. It doesn't look like you can buy anything.

A woman comes walking into the dock, I ask her if she needs any help.

Lady "Yes, I'm looking for furnace filters and they told me they're back in the corner"

Me "Ok, well you went a little too far. Go back down this aisle, and they're in the 2nd aisle on the right. Not the aisle with the water heaters, but the next one"

She thanks me and we watch as she proceeds to walk the entire aisle until she turns and goes into lawn and garden. To which I remark "I guess I should have walked her over there"

Few minutes pass and our last unloader gets there, telling us that MOD is on his way, he got stuck with an irate customer.

Me "Was it a woman needing a furnace filter?"
    Him "How'd you know?"

So we relay the story, and it turns out she went to customer service, demanded a manager, and demanded he assure her that the filter she was buying was the correct one.

Manager finally gets back to let us start, and he looks pissed, and won't tell us if he took care of her or not.

Of course, because of all that we got started 30 minutes late and consequently had to work a half hour later than normal.

She wanted him to tell her if the filter was the correct one for her furnace...which, unless I am much mistaken, was in her home...where the manager could not see it.

Far as I know, all you need is the correct size, and then it's your decision if you wanna go cheap or you wanna spring for the fancy HEPA ones.
When you start at zero, everything's progress.
