My response - "Oh, my ankle, my knee, my whatever, your dog broke my leg when he tripped me, call me an ambulance, but first, let me get your name and basic details for my lawer to sue you for allowing your dog to trip me"


(and nope, not an advocate of lawsuits as an answer, or threats of lawsuits as a way to handle every instance, but sometimes, pointing out that you can sue them just as easily as they can sue you can give them a sudden attitude change).
