It sounds like your email didn't get through, so they thought their email didn't get through, so they sent a new one. Not sucky per-se unless the email server does this a lot, but it's not their fault.

I've often had to deal with poor grammar in emails and written assignments from my students (I teach nursing).

I keep telling them that their status as medical professionals depends on their ability not to look like back country hicks or gangstas from the 'hood.

When I put it to them like that, it gets their attention
