Background: I can take a percentage off a damaged item,, mark down something a small amount to eliminate having to do a price-check, or punch in a price under a certain amount. None of this works on clearance items, however. Also, two identical items (except for color or style) can be 2 prices. Enter SC. She had 2 lunchbags, same brand/style, but different cartoon characters, at a difference of about $1.50. Enter all the whining about how they're identical--um, NO, they are different characters--and protests of "You'd think you'd want to sell it today." When I didn't give in she said they must have missed marking it down. I explained that CORPORATE prices things and the system knows how much they are. [I mean, really, can you imagine the problems if we just went by the stickers? And BTW, the price is clearly marked on clearance, unlike other stuff]. So she went to the service desk to whine to them & our manager said no. What the SC didn't count on is that said mngr used to be the manager of the PRICE CHANGE TEAM. Of course she said no. And, as a response to the selling-it-today remark: I. don't. care.
