For some odd reason everybody thinks that a casino and and will cash any kind of check just because. Not true. We have to verify the bank and have it go through our credit department. Why? Because assholes have decided that its fun to make up fake companies and even make fake ones out of real companies. But even then, we still verify to cover our asses.

Well, that being said, a couple came up with a check from another casino from another town. Same state but different town. Anyway, also to cash a company check you have to have several months of play. Why should we cash your check if you're not going to use it here?

Me: Do you have a players card?

The man said that they do play her but they play on the woman's card. I look up her play and they spent like ten dollars over a course of a year. Not looking good. And besides the card would have to be in his name for it to count.

I looked up the company to see whether or not they set up an account with us. They did at one point BUT it had a HUGE caution on it and a do not cash due to NSF's! And fake checks.

Anyway, so I tell them I will be right back to talk to my boss. She said NO of course.

Me: Unfortunately we are unable to cash your check. The casino themselves would need to set up a credit line with us.

SG: (sucky guy) I can't believe you've never heard of blank casino!

Me: Sir, I've heard of it BUT they need to set up a line.

SG: I have ID and I work at a major casino. I can't believe this!

Me: I'm sorry. We can take a copy of the check and have it go through credit-

SG: How long would that take!?

Me: Since it's a holiday weekend probably until tuesday. We have to verify the bank.

SG: This is ridiculous!! Bitch, moan, be an asshole, moan bitch

At this point I'm just hoping he'll walk away. The wife though was apologizing for her rude husband. I felt bad for her.

SGW: Sucky guy's wife

Me: Well.. There is an all check cashing place and if you don't want to walk to every casino you can pick up a house phone and call each casino and ask what their policies are.

SGW: Thank you so much.

SG: Fuck this. I was going to spend my 900's here but I think we will just drive home and spend it there!

Me: Okay.

SG: Okay!? We'll just go to blank casino down the road. They're a bigger company!

Whatever dude, I don't give a fuck where you go just get outta my face! I wanted to yell. And good luck other casino is NOT a bigger company than ours and what difference would that make? You're fucked dude. Suck it up and go home.

Like 900 is anything to all but the smallest casinos? Come on. 900 is nothing. Some people (in the major casinos) drop a lot more then that on a single bet.

Sadly 900 IS nothing. To me? It's a nice chunk of cash but to the casino its like a twenty. I know customers who have 100K lines and get 20k markers or write checks. I wish I had that much money... But I know where I wouldn't spend it.

Agreed. And how many times do you hear a line similar to them supplying your paycheck? I've only had that a few times but it makes me want to say, "hmm. I don't see your signature anywhere on my paycheck..."
