I didn't deal with this person directly. I just got to hear the laments of the people who did.
To start with, crazy microwave lady managed to return a boombox she had purchased six months before and got a full refund. Policy states that electronic items have to be returned within 30 days for a refund. I can only assume the service desk person who did the refund was asleep or spineless.
So now CML has this gift card from us, and at first she wants us to give her cash in exchange for it, which we refuse. So she's got no choice but to spend it up. CML visits the local Wall World supercenter and sees a microwave oven she likes for 69 bucks and change. Then she visits us and sees a similar microwave to the one Wally World has for more money. So she calls us and tells us she wants us to match Wally World's price on our microwave oven. We tell her we need to make a couple phone calls, and to call us later.
A couple phone calls to Wally World confirm that their microwave oven is slightly different from ours; hence we cannot do the price match for CML since it's not an identical item. CML calls us today and we offer her a compromise: our microwave oven for the lowest price it's been in a recent time period--$78.88. Less than 9 bucks difference.
This is not good enough for CML. She starts ripping into the manager helping her over the phone, telling us we rip people off (that's really funny coming from somebody who managed to scam a gift card she shouldn't have gotten in the first place) and she's never shopping with us again.
Assuming she's not bluffing, good riddance. She can't shop much with us anyway if she's wanting cash instead of our gift card.
