I took a reservation. Everything seemed to go fine until oops I overbooked the room type for tomorrow. I'll just try and make a phonecall to get this settled asap. A couple hours later when I finally do get her to call, I explain the situation.

Me: I was calling to let you know that when I booked your room with 2 queens I overbooked for tomorrow. I'm willing to put you in a suite with a king bed and a pullout for the same price.
SC: WHAT???? No that's not acceptable. You made a mistake and you need to make this right.
Me: Let me just make a few calls to my manager to see what I can arrange.

I have a chat with manager. I call SC back.

Me: Hi this is Hero again from the Stockpot Inn. I just spoke to my manager. I have a few options. We can either put you up at the other hotel we own at the same rate which is a dang good deal. (Theirs is a Stockpot Suites.)
SC: No that's unacceptable. I need it to be your location.
Me: I understand. Other option is I can put you in the 2 queen tonight and then tomorrow we have 2 rooms with a king bed in each.
SC: No, I'm not moving rooms. This better be worth my while.
Me: My boss told me I can put you in the king rooms at a total of $69.99 per night.
SC: You think this is about the money? Surely you can do better than this.

At this point I'm thinking she misunderstood the offer.

Me: What I'm trying to say is that when you move into the king rooms tomorrow. One of them will be $69.99 and the other will be complimentary.
SC: (Very sweetly) That's very good. I appreciate how you handled this. You've got more balls than you realize.

OK fess up. Which one of you thought it would be funny to call me up at work just to perform a secret test of character? SHW you're off the hook. I know what your voice sounds like. Whiskey, you're my main suspect right now.

I'm a little annoyed that your manager comped an entire room when you just KNOW this woman is going to throw a bitchfest when she's told she needs to move rooms. Even though you warned her ahead of time. And will be comping a room.

That's exactly the thing. I would have been better off not selling her the room because once I sold the room I overbooked for tomorrow. And yes, I took the effort to fix this.

When it averages out, she's paying 140 total for 3 rooms. Just under $50. Not great, but not terrible either.

That one actually isn't my kitty, though it looks almost identical to my Hana (Hana has more orange on her, and has an orange diamond on her forehead) - but a friend took it and sent it to me because she knew that I'd like it. I have to buy wings and try them on my kitties... I'm not sure if either Hana (my tortie) or her brother Gypsy (all black except the very tip of his tail, which is white) will wear them... Gypsy learned how to take off his cat collar within 20 minutes and then proceeded to take his sister's off her too. But Hana will occasionally wear orange mardi-gras beads, so I have hope. ^_^

SHW, have you heard about the limited release pumpkin woodchuck?!?! My liquor store didn't have any in today so I have to call them after noon when they get their delivery to see if they got any... I'm hoping! I love the limited releases. I need to pick up another batch of the fall cider... it had cinnamon & nutmeg in it. Wasn't too fond of the blueberry woodchuck... still have a few bottles in the fridge though.

Vodka... depends on what it's mixed with. I can't drink it straight.

I have strange drink tastes. Amaretto & regular (non-alcoholic) apple cider is good. Cranberry juice & Triple Sec is good. Peachtree & Vodka & Triplesec with a little sprite or 7-up is good too. Midori & Pineapple soda (when I can find it... I like the carbonation with it) is also yummy.

I play around. I don't really like the taste of a lot of alcohol, but I like it when I can get a lot of alcohol in a drink without it tasting like it!
