I can totally relate with the poor customer. I'm such a caninephobe and if I were in that same situation I'd probably react the same way. And yes, I've gotten a lot of shit from dog lovers and told I need to "get over it."
    Same thing here.
In fact, the first time I went to my (now) in-law's house, their two big dogs ran up to me barking and "smiling". I ran outside and down the street, I was so scared. They had to put the dogs in another room whenever I came over after school until I got upstairs to (now) hubby's room. It took me over two years to even get within three feet of the dogs. And their little dog, just terrifies me, because no matter what, he always tries to bite me. Yeah, sure, he's playing...with his teeth. And I want nothing to do with it.
I was always scared of little dogs, because my neighbors breed chihuahuas and I was swarmed by them once, and got bitten up pretty bad. After my dad's lab died, I became scared of big dogs too, I'm not sure why.
That lady was super-rude too. I mean, that guy was being extremely patient by just moving and keeping an eye on the dog, I would have probably screamed and ran off. I'm so skittish. The craft show I was at Saturday there were people with little puppies ALL OVER THE PLACE. And for some reason one puppy got loose and came over to my booth...I about peed myself I was so freaked out. Hubby scooped him up and found his people though.
Oh wook at teh widdle babeh dwaggin! How cyuuute babeh dwag-AAAAAAAUUUGGGHHHH! *nom*
