Got a SC today that went off on me today. She was denied a payment extension by someone else, called back and took it out on me. It went something like this:
ME: Thank you for...
SC: Who's this?!
ME: My name is *REDACTED* how...
SC: Uh yeah Jeremy *not my name, not even close* I need a payment extension 'cause I can't pau my bill until Friday and they're cutting off my power tomorrow.
ME: Well unfortunately...
SC: Unfortunately nothing! I can't pay now I NEED an extension!
ME: I can't provide an extension but what I can...
SC: *cue customer rant about how I wasn't raised right and I have no compassion and my family should be ashamed to have me as a son. The adhominem attack continued for about 7 minutes and the whole time I was waiting to give her some good news*. ... you and your family should burn in he'll for what you're doing to poor people.
ME: Ma'am, if you'll just give me a moment...
SC: Go to he'll. Bye. *click*
Wow that was too bad because, yeah she didn't qualify for a payment extension but we were holding too much deposit on her account. Money that if she had consented to a refund for, would have paid her past due and current bill and left a credit on her account for the next bill. Too bad she was so adamant about telling me off she failed to listen to the alternative which would have been better. Oh well...
