  • new job:i'm back baby with some good ones

    it been a long time since i have been able to contribute, but i got a new job (cashire in a dollar store) so i can participate again!

    The Chips cost $2.00 ma'am:


    ok, this lady comes up with a cart full of stuff and i ring up the first item and scan it

    note it rings up $2.00, but the regular price is shown underneath to show how much you save.

    she goes off just glancing and says, "no, these chips are $2"

    me: of course
    cl:Chip Lady

    Me:"they are, that is what it rang up as"
    cl:*pointing to screen"no they rang up as $3
    me:*points to screen* the $3 price is the regular price, they are $2
    cl:*yelling, pointing to the sign* "THESE CHIPS ARE $2"

    ok, i am a loud person, i am 190lbs and 6'3 and i am normally quiet though. i took a breath and in a loud, commanding voice, that wasn't rude, i stated:
    "Ma'am, These chips originally cost $3, they are on sale for $2, they rang up for the sale price"

    she then shut up and left after paying

    Just because you wait a couple of minutes, doesn't mean you can be rude


    ok, this older lady comes up with a lot of cat food, there was no line, so i am taking a steady pace, making sure that no bag was too heavy for her to carry and was helping her load her buggy

    all of the sudden this group of loud talking people, couple of parents and some of the brattiest teenagers ever came up behind the lady and it took about two more minutes to finish with the old lady, who payed with a check (which warrants time)

    one of the teenage brats spouted off, "man this is taking forever!"
    another then said, "it is because he is new"

    um hm, i had been there for a month, i might be fairly new, but the time delay is not from new, it is taking care of an older customer

    then the queen of the group came up and spouted, "it is rediculous to wait 15 minutes in line at the grocery store"

    now really, you waited 2 minutes, not 15, and i was taking care of an elderly customer, you can can it

    she even had the audacity to send her bratty teenager to go get my manager out of the breakroom to hurry things up, that is a big no no, so you waited some, there is nothing i can do to speed things up, and she is on break, only to be bugged if i really need her, so learn some patience

    NAFTA:made in china


    this is the golden story:this guy came in and asked where the milk was, i told him and he came back with two gallons of milk and stated how "this store should change its name, for not everything is a dollar". so i pointed out how this candy was a dollar, he states that he bet it was made in china, i state yeah, basically everything is

    he then spouts a rant about how bill clinton stared the downfall of this country by the nafta agreement and how barackhusseinosamabinladinobama was destroying this country single-handedly

    he asked me my opinion of the man, and since i was on the clock and wanted to get him out of there i said, "i have no comment"

    he continued to rant and left the store after saying, "one day you will see how evil barackhusseinosamabinladinobama is destroying this country"

    i proceeded to bust out laughing at the register after he left

    i love my job

    at the NAFTA story...seriously, if he thinks that those are what are destroying the US, he's got another thing coming....FTA's do not destroy the economy.

        Welcome back to the fold my friend.

        Gotta love customers who argue about the price when you tell them point blank that they're getting what they want.

        And loved that second story because I put up with that so often that it's a wonder I'm not typing this from the supervised computer lab of a criminal psychiatric ward's common area.

        Heck, just this past two weeks I had an elderly lady in my line who was asking me questions about the service plans and the tech support for her printer. There was no line behind her and I was ringing her up as I spoke.

        But I had some college asshole lean in behind her with his one note book and say,

        "Excuse me? You are just talking, can you hurry up please?"

              the only thing funnier is when they yell and scream "the price is XXX!!!!!!eleventy!!!!11!!!!"... and they're too busy screaming to realize that you're trying to charge them less.
