  • Ignorance is no excuse.

How many times have I heard the excuse "no one explained the return policy to me" as a reason why I should go against it? We have it posted prominently in two places at each register. Just because you didn't bother reading the highlighted placards doesn't mean its okay for me to ignore it as well. And if you think that getting your $40 back is more important than my job, then FUCK OFF.

Sorry, I just had another one of these and had to vent.
O God, thy sky is so vast and my plane is so small.

"its ok, nobody but us will know!"

of course, most registers log everything, so someone still finds out.
Bonus points when they point out how lucky you are in this crap economy to have a job at all, and then demand you try and lose it.

I love liberal return policies, bought a chainsaw, admittedly i was an idiot and should have tested it sooner but with work and crap weather it took me a month to get around to it to find out it was defective, I even tried dealing with the manufacturer. but no luck I took it back and they agreed it was screwed up and wasn't used so they refunded. Although, it sucks when people find a good policy they purposely abuse it and then the policy changes, or if you have enough SC a manager with cave and make you wonder why there is policy at all if nobody follows it.
I'm sorry reading is not a new concept it has been widely taught in our nation for at least the past 100 years. Please, learn to do it CORRECTLY before you become contagious.

I got called to a store to deal with a man abusing employees over returning jewelry that had been used for ear piercing. Even though all their signs and receipts stated they CANNOT take back used piercing jewelry, they were willing to give him store credit. But this was not good enough for him! He was getting really nasty and tried the "your receipt doesn't say that!" When they turned it over and pointed-out that it did he argued

"Well, you should have KNOWN that I can't read English!"

      The stupid, it burns!

Ignorance is a lack of knowledge.

Whether it's willful or just circumstances, ignorance is still ignorance.

But when it's willful, you add on a heaping spoonful of stupid.

Oy. I bet these people also break laws and then try to get out of trouble with the cops by telling them "But, officer, I wasn't aware that there was a law against drunk driving! Since I wasn't aware, it obviously doesn't apply to me!"

Oh, my word. There aren't enough "Fool" cards in a tarot deck. Too many of them escaped their decks and became real people. Then they went shopping.
