  • Your passive aggression only serves to confuse others...

Had a lady tonight, just after I'd moved over to my nightly station, during a very big rush, check herself out, and the night manager happened to be nearby as this lady walks past me and says, "Thanks for the help."
Night manager and I both respond basically, "No problem, have a great night."

Night manager waits until it's slow, and asks me if I had actually helped her, or was she being facetious?
"I seriously don't know... No short term memory, remember...?"

Night wears on a bit more, and I catch Night manager and tell him, "I don't understand sarcasm, I take everyone at their word, cause it usually throws them off to not have me grovel at them for their ire..."
    "I call murder on that!"

For the sake of this: I really hope you did help her and she wasn't being a bitch.

it could be she actually ment it. ive dont that before, thanking someone who never actually helped me, just for hanging around to make sure everything went well, like at the self scannies. then again, its canada, we are stupidly polite most of the time....

I always thank the SCO attendant, even when I didn't need him/her to do anything with my transaction.

(I don't say "thanks for your help", though, just "thanks, have a good night".)
