A couple years ago I worked in the call center of a major cable company. Those of you who have worked in that type of job know the policy on VOD selections (ESPECIALLY of the adult variety)... You have to go through 3 or 4 steps to order it, so there is no way to accidentally order it, therefore once ordered it cannot be removed from the bill unless there is a technical problem where the content is unavailable.
A lady calls in, upset that an adult movie appeared on her bill. I verify her account info and pull up her history. I inform her that yes, that selection was indeed ordered, and she could not be refunded for it. She did not like this answer. I then inform her that additional content of the same nature was ordered more recently, and comment that "they must not have liked that one, as 3 different movies were ordered within 20 minutes of each other."
She asked the date. It was October 31. She tells me that they "couldn't have ordered that, we were out trick-or-treating!!!" The time they were ordered? After 11pm. (and our system was based on local time, not call-center time for VOD.) Nice try, lady!
