i work both day shifts, and night shifts. meet all sorts of people but, no one tops this crazy woman i came across.

according to my colleagues during the shift handover, she was sitting in the lobby for like 4 hours with her luggage. they thought she had a reservation with us. then one of the agent went up to ask her if she needed any assistance. she said she was waiting for the airport shuttle. (kinda weird you have to wait for a shuttle for 4 hours) and she then asked one of my colleagues his nationality. my colleague politely told her "American" then she asked for a manager. so my manager went to her. and asked if she needed any assistance. she asked my manager's nationality. he said he is French (believe me, he is, and he is the nicest managers of all) then she said she didnt need any assistance. and we went on to do our paperwork and stuffs. then right around midnight. she came to the front desk and wanted to check in. and thats when all the shit started.

she requested the manager to check her in. (she didnt have a reservations, and magically we had rooms available that night. HAHHAHHAA)
anyway. during check in. she was chowing down the apples we had at the front desk. not so much of a problem for chowing down the apples. but she basically ate all the apples at the front desk about 20 to 30 of them. and left a mess at the desk. as my manager showed her the keys to the room and the minibar keys to the fridge. she wasnt paying any attention. so she got the keys. and fumbling with all her luggages, apples, bags and shit. and my manager walked back to do his paperwork, and she asked me which were the room keys. I told her the credit card looking things were the room keys, and the one with the key was the minibar key. she was in disbelieve, she said you are lying to me. this is not a room key. so she demand to speak to a manager and complained about me lying to her. ( funny how stupid people can be these days)

after she was convinced the credit card looking thing was indeed the room key. she went to her room. 15 minutes later. she called to complaint about the TV not working, and she demanded at least 3 people (engineer, security, and manager) to go to her room to fix her TV. (as if we didnt have anything to do at night)

the whole night she called the operator no less than 20 times
first she told him about the people she saw in the lobby. going in and out of the hotel (of course there were people going in and out of the hotel lobby)
then she thought those people were coming to kill her.
and she complaint about the smoke detector in her room because she believed that thing was indeed a video camera watching her every move in her room, and she demanded to have someone (no less than 3 people, engineer, security, and manager) to take it out of her room at 1 am in the morning
she also demanded a security guard stood outside of her room to protect her.
she also told the operator she was going to die. and we asked her if she needed an ambulance. and she said she didnt need one. she asked him if he thought she was crazy. (he told me during our break, if she calls again he would go up there and kill her himself. of course thats a joke)

she refused to leave her room even though our check out time is noon, and she believed she entitle to keep her room until midnight because she check in at midnight. according to my colleagues, took them like 3 hours to get rid of her. on her way out. she put all the apples on the front desk, into her bags, and she left.

what a freaking night we had she alone had kept us up all night.
I have no idea why did we let those people out of the mental hospitals

While I feel your pain for having to deal with this guest, I can't help but feel a little bad for her. Sounds like she has some mental issues...was probably disturbed enough to not even realize she was being an SC. Hopefully, she gets help.

My first thought is drugs - she's on drugs. When I was still on drugs, I stayed in hotel rooms and often thought they were bugged and/or video cameras were all over. I have torn apart many a phone and smoke detector convinced "they" were watching!

AH, so happy to have those days behind me!

I would have definitely called the police at some point that night before having to put up with all of that. That woman has serious issues.

I think she may have been literally crazy. She sounds at least mildly scizophrenic to me. Scizophrenics tend to believe people are out to get kill them for no reason, are being spied on, etc... It wouldn't surprise me if she was hearing voices and stuff as well; might be why she thought the person at the front desk was going to die - the voices told her so.

You ask the cops to take her to ER/trauma center where the psychiatrist on call will evaluate whether she needs her meds and/or to be admitted. (She sounds schizophrenic.) If she's this whacked out on her hotel room, she's not suddenly going to improve once she's at the airport.

And beleive me, on these days it will be much much more gentle to have her deal with hospital psychiatric doctors, than with wary TSA agents.
