...in 3 years working for <company> I have NEVER seen this happen at work ever. It is also the first time I had to call for a security code.
One of our semi-regulars (I've seen her in the store before) was shopping and then decided to hurl a few slurs at a group of teenage girls who were waiting at the checkout. From what I heard it sounded like a case of mistaken identity.
Girls then stupidly hurl some slurs BACK (more to defend herself I think rather than inciting anything), and the lady gets pissed. She walks over and pushes one of the girls. Girl starts yelling back. Then the lady starts ATTACKING the girl!
As in they were rolling around on the floor.
One customer managed to separate them. Lady left soon after and changed her clothes up the road (last I heard)
We called the police and treated the girl as best as we could (the girl had a blood nose, cut finger and some body part was swollen either wrist or head). Police arrived about 90 minutes later. Two of us gave statements as we witnessed it.
If anything else happens I'll keep you guys posted. Not surprisingly, lady now has a permaban. If said banning is not enforced, then I'll be refusing service and so will a good chunk of my coworkers after this I think.
My theory, although not a great one, is that the lady was one of the following: drunk to some degree, under the influence of illicit drugs or either was mentally ill and had not been diagnosed or mentally ill and not taking her meds, either deliberately or not.
