Yup, the 'Happy Hooker'. Put out by the same people who brought you 'Stitch and Bitch'.

SnB is one of the best knitting books out there for people who are starting out, because it has instructions plus a lot of really cool patterns in a variety of difficulty levels, but I cringe when I recommend it to people, because I never know how they'll take it. Most laugh, but I've had people get offended.

Stitch and Bitch...I think that's great!
I will not shove “it” up my backside. I do not know what “it” is, but in my many years on this earth I have figured out that that particular port hole is best reserved for emergency exit only. -GK

Woo. Stop by a higher end knit shop and hang out there for a while. There are a LOT of younger people knitting right now. I get a lot of school aged kids coming in, even, with their parents. The kids are the knitters.

I also crochet, although not as well as I knit.
If there was only one in my area.

I know that's what I do when learning how to do something new.

OT, but I'm the opposite, I crochet, but I can't knit at all.

I'll bet there is one, and you just don't know about it. People come into my store all the time and say that they've lived in the area for years and never realized we were here. We don't have the money for huge advertisements, so we rely on word of mouth.

Most knit shops are also not in major downtown areas, so they're hard to stumble on. But if you do a search for the name of your city and 'yarn' on google, I bet you'll turn up something eventually.

I've done most crafts as a hobby. Those crafts include sewing, knitting, crocheting, jewelry making, tatting, and latch hooking.
