The ahem, "lady" was banned from the store, she tried to return several times, but management kept kicking her out. They finally arrested her for trespassing, after she refused to leave the store.
Excellent!! I have to say that my cold, black heart warmed a little to hear that she got arrested. I'm such a cynical, hateful person sometimes.

Wonder if little Susie was with her when she got arrested. Or maybe she left her in a park across town somewhere by herself, thinking the people in the neighboring houses would keep an eye on her.

AMEN that she is not allowed in the store!! it is about time rude customers like that are put in the place they belong and that is out on the street? no it is in jail.

I feel terrible for that poor child having to live with a parent like that.

So glad that the SC got banned and arrested for her trespassing and that the cool customer and manager backed you up too.

This is to blame the stupid manager(s) who came up with the devise that the customer is always right.
I'm sure the full and more accurate story is floating around the site here somewhere, but iirc, the origin of that began as a misquotation. It goes something like this:

The Owner of a really high-end clothing store in London (?) determined that a small % of his customers were responsible for the overwhelming bulk of his profit -- a tendency that still applies to most businesses to this day. In order to keep the patronage of the big spenders, he felt that it would be best to "treat these customers as if they were always right". Big difference in the meaning, there Thus, naturally, it got warped over time into the absurdity we see today.

I feel sorry for that kid, with a mother like that. Hopefully she learns what not to do, rather than following Mommie Dearest's sorry example.

Kudo's to your manager. This is the first time I can recall a ban that was actually enforced. Though she'll try bitching and/or suing corporate for whatever. Consider taking the security video to your local public prosecutor's office--that'll put a hole in her lawsuit.

I've had to tell that to more than one who tried to leave the kids behind while mommy dearest dashed back home for that missing 1099.

Sheesh... someone should call child protective services on her, too. Not watching the kid, then trying to start a fight with someone in front of her.

                              Good riddance.

The only good thing I can say about the mom (unless I read over the part) was she didn't start to hit her kid for wandering off. I've seen that. Either the parent grabs ahold of the child's arm very hard and screams right in the child's face for 10 min, or start hitting the kid really hard on his/her bottom. Or a something like that.
