So, Hoss and I go out to take care of carts early in the afternoon, so we're stocked inside for the rest of the evening until we have to stock them up before we close. As per usual, we round up the two older red plastic carts to use as "stabilizers" on our cart train, so it doesn't serpentine all over the lot.
Hoss and I guard those red carts like crazy while we're doing carts. When we finish up, we stack them on the front of the cart-pusher, and stash the stack in the pusher's storage space, which at the moment is behind a table stocked up with a watch roadshow display.
In the interim, I'm covering a break on the door for a while, and I see a woman leaving with one of the red carts. There were still plenty of carts not ten feet away, perfectly capable of being used, and far easier to get to, rather than moving the watch roadshow table out of the way and then moving it back into place, just to get one of those red carts.
It didn't help that Hoss and I couldn't find it out in the parking lot later. We ended up guessing she'd gone over to Wally World or Tarjhey with it. (We were wrong, someone else took it and went inside with it.) It was just a little irritant to an otherwise ordinary Wednesday.
