  • SC at check out

when i check out guests i usually go over their bills with them just to remind them whats being charged. most hotels if not all charge for phone calls, 50 cents to a dollar.

couple weeks ago there were 3 women (they are sisters) checked in to our hotel, they already bitched at us for not giving them higher floors and such. they had 3 rooms and were paying some decent prices. so the managers gave them somewhat nicer rooms. anyway. during check out as i was verifying their bill on what the charges were. one of the sisters went nuts over 2 phone calls and room services.
    SC:Sucky Customer
    SCS:Sucky Customer's Sister
    SCH:Sucky Customer's Husband
    ME:Myself

ME: your rooms were prepaid, and there are a 2 room service charges, and 2 telephone calls from your room and breakfast, and lunch at the restaurant.
SC:what? 200 dollars of phone calls and food? this is ricudious. I didnt make any phone calls. Take them off the bill. the housekeepers must've used the phone when i wasnt in the room.
ME: Ma'am, the phone calls were made at 10 pm at night. I am sure no housekeepers would enter your room without you being there.
SC: Bullshit, i didnt use the phone to make any calls, I have a cellphone, Take it off the bill.
ME:well ma'am i cannot take off the charges unless there is an error, and i can tell you the phone numbers on the calls were made. XXX-XXXX, XXX-XXXX all local calls.
SCS:remember mom went to the room, and she probably made the calls herself
SCH:forget about that 2 bucks, i could careless of that 2 bucks, just sign the bill and move on, we got a plane to catch.
SC: no its about principle, i didnt make the phone call, and the room services , its ridicious. 190 dollars on room service, I only order tomato soup and some ice cream.
MEthink: a 10 dollar tomato soup, plus 9 dollar ice cream with a 25 dollar cheeseburger, add delivery charge (to the room service guy) plus 15% grad charge, plus your own tip. comes out quite deadly. for one room service)
ME: you order few room services, and breakfast in the restaurant, and cocktails. If there was a problem with the bill, you should've let the managers know in the restaurant. and here are your signatures on the bill. (nice thing about our system, it shows the ticket number, items ordered, and guests signatures on the bill)
SC: I need to talk to a manager
ME: if you have a problem with our service, please talk to the guest relations' agent
SC stormed off to the guest relations desk
SCH: hon, there is no need to talk to anyone, we have a flight to catch we gotta go.
    SCH chased behind her
SCS: its ridicious for you guys to charge phone calls.
ME: your room also have about 150 dollars worth of room services, you want to verify that?
SCS signed the bill but still bitching about the phone calls and went to reinforce her sister
after 20 minutes at the guest relations desk, SC, SCS both stormed off the hotel, with SCH walked behind them saying the following
SCH: why do you have to act like this everytime we go out traveling, its only 2 dollars, and by the way it very possible your mom who made the call.

side note: there is an old chinese saying, how you behave usually thats how you look. SC, and SCS they both have long faces.... uber skiny, and jaw and cheek bones were visible ..... according to my chinese friend those type of women are the hardest to get along. btw... IMO, they are quite ugly.....

How did the reasonable-sounding hubby end up with this idjit for a wife? Luck of the draw I guess.

It happens every time they go travelling and he still travels with her? I think if I were him, I'd stay home, travel without her, walk away when she starts acting a fool, or - even better - divorce her!

The most common problem is the person thinking with the wrong head during courtship.

There is that. There is also the fact that many people DO in fact change over time. Some change for the better. Some change for the worse.

Well, I have changed my idjit for the better and maybe he is going to as well.

Sometimes (a lot less since we got together) my husband would be a total SC. But I kept just pointing out (with little sarcastic comments towards him) how he was acting and now even when he is faced with an SE (and I have totally supported him through it.) when the confrontation is over he will ask me if he went too far and apologise to me for it.

Then I always say, "If you were in the wrong do you think I would have LET you continue on without some smartass response towards you from me?"

I wish we had something like that here. With our system it boils down to something like this.

Customer: I refuse to pay for these movies.
Me: Well sir, you watched 3 movies in their entirety at 11.99 each (yeah, porn is expensive)
Customer: No i didn't, i never signed to pay those, only the room charges. Take the charges off or let me speak to a manager.

Yep, our word vs. theirs, and they always win. Ah, the hell with it, its not my money.
