The other day, a customer wanted to know if we had pet safe rock salt. Since I didn't have any customers in my line at the time, I went to check but we ran out. I offered to call another store and the customer suggested the store I transferred from. I dialed from the service desk and transferred the call to my register since I was the only one open. It turned out that the other store had it but they only had one. Another customer came up and I had trouble with focusing on both so I handed the phone to the pet safe rock salt customer since she'd be able to explain it better.
The customer I was ringing up told her children to stay where they were since they were acting up. The customer complained that she'd been waiting in line for twenty minutes and that she wanted to get out of the store so I quickly rang up her items. She asked me if I was being sarcastic, that her 10 year old son was acting that way, and that she also didn't need it from me. I let her know that I was trying to hurry and the rest of the transaction went pretty smoothly.
