  • Shut Up About Gas Prices Already!

I swear, if I have to hear about gas price one more time, I will scream...or jump the counter and throttle someone. Yes, I'm aware it just hit $3.39 for the "cheap" blend. Ranting to me about the president, oil companies, etc is NOT going to change that. Don't you notice me looking away, or looking at you with glazed over eyes? I. Don't. Want. To hear this. Please, feel free to leave my store immediately. I'm moving on to the next person behind you. Have a wonderful day though! (Note the heavy sarcasm in that last sentence. It can't be heavy enough!)

I just had to rant about this. Sorry. Most annoying thing I'm experiencing at the C-store right now!!

Ha! It'll be $5 by the summer...Or so the skeptical customers say. I just roll my eyes and move on. Whatever.

You know that working at a store that sells petrol turns you into peoples punching bag. Every job has at least one thing that does that. :P

Yes, Mystic, I know. After 8 years, I should know. Doesn't mean I'm not still frustrated about it. :P

Now where's those jetpacks the futurists in the 70's said we'd all have by now?...lol. OR better yet, a good transporter from Star Trek, if that really existed, would put the gas companies out of business overnight. Where the hell is Scotty when you need him??...LOL!

                Thats per gallon correct?

That would equate to about .89c/litre over here - sign me up I'm paying $1.30/litre here in Sydney

I do love how the customers feel that it is your fault the prices go up. If you dont like - dont drive. Otherwise STFU and deal with it.

Yeah, I'm somewhere around $3.69-$3.98 depending on what station I go to. I was all excited that my little local one was hovering at $3.43 for a while, but then they got with the game and raised theirs.

*shrugs* If I'm not traveling out of the borough, I don't have to gas up more than once every couple of weeks. And it's only a 10G tank, so it's not too much of a hit.

Don't you know it's always the cashier/clerk's fault when prices go up?

I completely understand people being upset and ranting about gas prices, just not at someone who is just doing their job. I rant to friends about it but I know stores don't make much money off of gas, they make it off of all the other junk they sell, heck high gas prices are hurting them too (since people are spending more on gas they are less likely to make an impulse purchase) so if they could lower the prices I'm sure they would, but the oil companies are keeping prices high.

$1.325 per litre last night, just north of Brissie, and that's around 10 cents less per litre for standard unleaded (without the -4 cent coupon) than it's been for the last couple of weeks. Probably went back up this morning, good thing we don't travel far and have economic vehicles.

                          Hmm...
                          1 gallon = 3.79 litres
1 litre = £1.30 (for unleaded in my area)
                          1 gallon = £4.93
                          £4.93 = $8.03

Can we have your prices, please? =P $3.39 (£2.08/gallon, or 54p/litre ) would be the cheapest we've had it in...quite some time.

It is what it is. I never, ever complain about it. I rarely even notice the price. It's somewhere around $3.50 here, and I only noticed because it was around $2.50 or $2.69 or somethin' last I looked....I think. See? If you don't pay attention, you don't get upset. But then, my inattention has never been calculated anyway. I pay more attention to the price of cocoa because that fuel (cocoa for my mocha latte) is really important!

Ha! I''d love to hear what the uppity political ranters have to say if I'd tell them gas/petrol is high all over the world! Let's see them blame THAT on the president.
