I volunteer at a cat shelter every week, and today was just....gah.
So I get in a little after 8 this morning, and one of the vet techs is already in. She's also setting up the cage in the foyer/entrance room for some reason (we almost never put cats in there, in the 2 years I've been volunteering, this is only the second time a cat has been put there.)
Well, apparently some
dumped four cats at the shelter. We have ~15 cats in intake, and around 75-80 in the main shelter. We're full. And as we're a no-kill shelter, we're full until someone adopts, then we take cats in from the wait list.
The good news is, they left the collars on the cats. With rabies tags. From a small vet practice.
The shelter will pursue all charges we can hit the owners with.
