  • Going off on SC?

Have you ever had the pleasure of ripping into a SC? We've all wanted to, it's natural. I got my chance at WalMart years ago.

I was working at a grocery store at the time and went to WalMart after work to pick up a book. I was kneeling down when a belligerent woman started yelling and cursing. I looked around to see what was going on, couldn't find anyone and went about my business. The lady, on the other hand, walks a little closer and continues to scream and curse. Once again, I look around and the woman says "Yeah, I'm talking to you". I put my head down and start to chuckle. She wasn't amused as this pissed her off even more. She starts going off. I stand up, walk to her and say "YOU'RE TALKING TO ME? ARE YOU (F'ing) TALKING TO ME? DO I LOOK LIKE I (F'ing) WORK HERE?"

Her face turned a shade of white that I had never seen before as the blood just drained out of her head. She started stuttering trying to apologize.

I not so politely stopped her from proceeding. "Listen b!tch. It doesn't matter if I worked here or not, you shouldn't treat anyone the way you just treated me. Just because you are a customer doesn't mean you don't have to treat people without any respect. And next time, make damn sure you are actually talking to an employee before you start yelling and cursing at someone. You're likely to get hurt if you approach the wrong person."

Needless to say, I took out a lot of frustration on that customer because I could without fear because I didn't actually work there.

Has anyone else had an opportunity like this?

We've got a "I don't work here" megathread somewhere - someone fancy searching for and linking to it?

If memory serves, we even have a tale from someone who got fired by a manager who took the word of the customer at face value, despite them not working there...

      Going off on customer

Awesome. I'll flip through all the pages. I guess I should lurk some more so I don't start duplicate threads.

Not a "I dont work here" story, but me going off on a sucky anime fan today.

There was a HUGE line for the dealer room at a convention I was at, and the girl behind me just kept pissing and moaning about how the line was too long and no one was moving and she was hot and had money to burn.

After hearing this fr 10 minutes, I turned to her and asked her if she had been in the dealers room yet. She said yes. I then said "Well, then you know just how small it is. Imagine almost 500 people in a space designed for maybe 200, all rubbing against each other, the smell and the sweat and the all around funk. Now, you bitching is NOT going to make this line move any faster, so shut it or Ill make sure I press you up against the nastiest, sweatiest, stankiest person in that room for a good 5 minutes."

She shut up and stood quietly in line after that.

As I am standing there looking for tylenol someone asks loudly where something was can't quite remember what it was she was looking for then this bitch shouts and taps me on the shoulder still wanting to know where such and such was...Now I have a headache as it is I look at her like WTF and VERY rudely say MA"AM I DO NOT WORK HERE!!!!..She looked stunned and went to protest when someone informed her where it was that she was looking for
