Most of our customers get kind of an average number of bottles (5 gallons) delivered. Some have a standing order. However when they're calling, I routinely ask them for the number they want, for a few reasons; mainly, they usually know or have an idea. If they don’t they will usually ask "can you see what we normally get?" I can and I will look at their last 2 or 3 deliveries and say, "looks like we've been bringing you x." So far, so good.
What I HATE is when they way in a "im waaay too good to talk to you " type of voice "I've no idea, what do you deliver?" I check, and say "looks like x"- and they say "no, no, that's not nearly enough ( or way too much), we need x." Excuuuse me but if you know what you need please tell me, I am not the Amazing Kreskin, nor do I wish to talk to you any longer than I have to.
Note: we do have a form that shows us "average" or "fixed" delivery amounts. With a few exceptions it is often wrong-so that is why I am in the habit of relying on the customer to tell me this I for
99% of the time it works fine.
