    NOT supposed to talk!!!

    This wonderful gem happened today whilst at work. K:me
    Cw: co worke Iw: idiot woman

    Cw: what time do you get off kitty?
    K: at 10.

    By this time Iw comes in the line. She pushes past an old Chinese woman who was going to say something but being as Iw turned around to glare old woman shied back.

    Iw: you guys need to quit talking. I'm gonna call corporate. *points to me and cw.* it amazes me how people keep their jobs when rules are broken. *pays for stuff*

    She looks at us again and sees we have a WTF look on our faces.

    Iw: the looks will stop now please. Thank you!

    Iw leaves and a while later I click out to go home. Sitting outside on my bike I am talking to my friend on the phone when Iw makes a return visit.

    Iw: so we talk on the phone now rather than on break?
    K: I'm off. Having a personal convo with my friend.

    Iw doesn't like this. Not. At. All.

    Iw: why are you still in uniform? Get off the phone and get your lazy ass back to work before I call corporate!

    K: mind your business! Go ahead and CALL corporate!!

    Iw walks off quickly. Now all I have to do is wait and see isf she called.
    My other cw told ne she has a screw loose and not to worry though.

    WTF? How does she know what the "rules" are, and anyway, you were talking about work related stuff, so who cares?

        see this is why I always came to work in my uniform, but changed into street clothes the second i got off. People tend to see the uniform and assume you are working. Even if you are carrying your lunch on the way to the backroom, or sitting in your car about to drive away.

          Wow, what a bitch! First she cuts in line and intimidates a good custy, is VERY rude to you and your cw, then yells at you when you're off the clock. I would have totally and completely ripped her a new one, I'll be damned if some bitchy self-important custy was talking to ME like that!

                The only rule broken here was that woman cutting in line. Just... wow. If you see her again you should be completely silent throughout the transaction so that you don't break the no talking rule

                    ...or in a completely different store doing your own shopping after work.

                    Funny, I just posted a comment in another thread about how I really don't mind if someone asks me if I work at the store even if I am clearly in uniform because I would actually prefer they ask rather than assume.

                      I love all these "rules" this SCs thinks you have to follow. No talking, no looking at each other or anything else, no being off duty. No being a fellow human.

                      Of course, you know if she were in your shoes, she would be breaking them right and left...not to mention the fact that she wouldn't last one shift in your job.

                        You do NOT pay me, lady. I am off work on my OWN time outside of the store. Why should I pack a change of clothes for each shift because you don't want to see employees "not working." Your sense of entitlement blows all modern senses of entitlement out of the water. You're seriously like a sentence away from demanding that people call you "your grace" and not looking directly at you.

                        Get. The FUCK. OVER yourself.

                        (And I really would have told her that. I'm more polite than I have any right to be 99.9% of the time in the face of some interesting challages. But you accost me when I'm not working to tell me to get back to work? NO.)

                            I was apart of something like this once. I knew a guy who always made huge messes at restaurants because it was "the staff's job to clean, not mine". He ended up getting a job as a waiter/busboy at this restaurant I frequented. I mentioned this fact to a few friends of mine who worked at places he messed up. Then we all went out to dinner together. The group ended up making quite the mess in his section. Nothing so outright jerky as pouring out the salt shakers on the table (a trick this guy used to pull) but they did make quite the spectacle.
