I'm with everyone else here. Call the police, get an assault report filed. There is absolutely no reason for him to do that to you. So you screwed up his order...big deal, you were trying to fix it for him. That is no excuse to push you around and herd you to the store or whatever. And yeah, big man...he can push a lady around....He'd probably piss himself as the cops show up at his door.

That guy was a complete asshole. "It's too cramped in the car to look through my stuff."
Well, maybe he should have cleaned out the 52 pounds of cans in the back seat, the dozen or so fast-food bags on the floor, and all the rest of the crap in the car..and maybe he'd have some freaking room

he had family with him, right? let them look through it, jerkoff. definitely report this whack job to the police; he does it and gets away with it once, he'll keep doing it until he actually harms someone/gets arrested.
        look! it's ghengis khan!

Definitely. Get him done. If he likes full-on body contact that much, let him experience it with a bunch of large, extra-friendly men in jail. Dickwad.

My old bosses at McDonalds would have totally called the cops. That was beyond rude, it was dangerous, abusive and illegal.

I really hope that this was caught on camera.

Yep, the police would have been called and charges would have been filed. I can understand you were scared and perhaps not thinking clearly but no way would I tolerate that kind of abuse. I shudder to think how he treats his family

Wow..I am just glad you are ok. Not sure what else to say in this case..
I do. The moment the customer had touched me I would have gone inside and had my manager call the police. If they refused I would have gotten the license plate number and done it myself. As I've said before, we are required to put up with ignorant customers ranting and raving...but the moment someone threatens me with bodily harm or actually touches me it's game over.

I called security and had them escort a woman out of our pharmacy one day when she threatened our pharmacist for refusing to fill her pain medicine three weeks early. When our store manager became aware of it, he called the customer and warned her that she would be banned from the store if she ever threatened another employee. And trust me, our store manager has a spine of jelly when it comes to dealing with rude and ignorant customers. But he knows that the law would not back the store if it came down to making us put up with being assaulted in the name of good customer service.

Second everyone saying call the police. If that had turdbucket had done that to me or my employees, I would have stuck the fuzz on him so fast...

I'd have called the police. I can't help it. I love Judge Judy, and according to her, any unwanted, hostile touching counts as an assault.
I strongly and I mean STRONGLY second that. Banning isn't enough....you should have called the police.

I'm 5'4' and weigh 130 lbs. This guy was about 6'5" and looked about 285 lbs. He stuck his stomach out and body slammed me so hard I almost fell over.

That is terrifying When I worked at Mom & Pop Pizza Place I had a guy follow me into the kitchen one night after he felt he'd been lied to about the price of his pizza and he was a huge guy too (and I'm 5'3" and weighed what I should weigh, back then...lol). My manager wasn't much help but at least he got the guy out of the kitchen.

That wasn't just assault. By forcing you to go back inside with him, he could be facing kidnapping and false imprisonment charges as well. You CANNOT legally force someone to go ANYWHERE unless you are a law enforcement officer or a security officer detaining someone for committing a crime on private property (or expelling someone from private property). It legally doesn't matter how short a time frame it was.
As everyone said, the police should have been called. I would have asked him to wait so I could refund his money and give him coupons for free food. Then I would have told the manager to call the police and stall the guy until they got there (or at least get his license plate).

Not entirely true about no one having the right to detain you except security or the police. Only the police can detain you for a specific period of time without liability. Anyone else, security or private citizen, can detain you until the police arrive but you better be damn certain you have 100% proof positive that will hold up in court that a crime was committed by the person you are detaining or you, security guard or private citizen, can be arrested for kidnapping and false imprisonment and you open yourself and the company you represent up to huge liability.

[Note: This is valid in MA for unarmed security…we were told never under any circumstance to try to detain anyone, just to call the police. Some states may have some liability protection for licensed security guards. All states have some form of citizen’s arrest on the books]

True. A manager is considered an agent of the company and once a manager has been informed of a hostile work environment the company is legally considered to be notified. If the manager chooses not to address the issue the company is liable.

There was a show I saw that had security camera footage from a pizza shop lobby. A woman came in, bypassed the long line and tried to order a pizza. One of the customers told her to wait in line like the rest of the people. Woman left and came back with a guy that had to be about 6'-6" and 300# of pure muscle. The boyfriend proceeded to beat the living crap out of the guy who "mouthed off" to his girlfriend.

Turns out the boyfriend had just been released from jail for assault. The cops picked him up pretty quickly and he will be doing many more years in prison now but I'm not sure how much that will console the person he beat up. Guy had a broken jaw, missing teeth, a broken eye socket and broken ribs.

Sadly, we have no exterior camera's and he started pushing on me when we got to a blind spot. We had no cutomers, inside or in the Drive Thru, so nobody saw it happen except his wife and kids. All my coworkers saw was me open the door and walk behind the counter with him following, screaming his head off. To them, he was just another sucky sucky customer. It was around 10:30 pm so it was too dark to catch his plate and I told Barbie after the guy stomped off

Yeah, I'm assuming there are security cameras out there. That was a pretty cut and dried case of assault.
This. This probably happened long enough ago that getting footage or a plate # would be difficult, but yeah, the second he bullrushed you, he was no longer a customer --- he was a threat. I'm glad to see you made it out in one piece
