  • Good and Meh

I'll do the "meh" one first.

    Meh

    Me:
    SC:
    MGR (manager):

    Me: <opening speech>
SC: <asks for status of phone>
Me: <gets enough info to look it up>It's been shipped but it hasn't yet been received.
SC: They told me it would be ready today!!!
Me: <tries explaining that it's been completed and it's on the way>
SC: Well maybe I should come down there and ask for a manager!!!
Me: It'll just be a few minutes. <Passes her on to the manager... cos hell, it's not like I can flap my arms and make it show up faster. Plus I'd already checked the incoming stuff>
MGR: <spends 10 minutes talking to customer and explaining the same stuff I just told her. Oh and gives her the tracking number. and makes this face >

    Good
I actually pretty much did the same thing here that I did in the "Meh" event - except this time I was calling the customer to tell him that his stuff was in.

    Cast:
    Me:
    Computer Guy:

Me: <finished receiving the computer, grabs paperwork and calls customer>
    CG: Hello?
Me: Good morning, sir, this is PepperElf from <compan....>
CG: OH!!!! OMG!!! <very happy sounds>
Me: Yes sir, your computer is ready for pickup.
CG: You have no idea, this is the best thing I've heard all day!

I swear... I think he was ready to jump through the phone to hug me. Which put me in a really good mood... enough of a good mood that the "Meh" lady never bothered me much.

Too bad I left before he came in to pick it up.

I like happy people. They are so rare they stand out and make me happy for longer than they really should.

Nobody gets that excited when when *I* fix their computer stuff! *sniff*

Maybe his day really sucked and it was the only good thing to happen that day?

That's what I was thinking. I was just glad to put him in such a good mood.

and ... to be honest I didn't even fix his computer; it had been sent off for work. I was just the one to deliver the news.
