  • And you STILL have to bring it in

From last night... I was the only one willing to field a call from a customer (no surprise... I didn't want to take it either but o well)

    usual cast - Me () and a customer ()

This time the customer was mad because he's had his Wii replaced 3 or 4 times and still has issues. And he's mad that the replacements they send him are refurbs.

Now he wants a NEW Wii or a refund.

... from a Wii he purchased TWO years ago?

At any rate he wasn't happy with my answer... that he had to bring it in.

I think he wanted me to agree to a refund or a new item over the phone... and I specified that it would require a manager, that he probably won't get a refund on an item that's 2 years old, and that they would most likely give him another refurb...

but he'd still have to bring it in anyway.
maybe that was it... maybe he just wanted the new one without having to show us the old one?

I may be new to the store... but I'm not stupid.

It would have been far simpler for him to buy a new one. They don't cost that much.

That depends on your financial situation. My husband and I just bought one this week, but the only way we were ble to afford it was with gift cards we got for our wedding.

I've had my Wii since nearly launch. How the heck did he go thru that many of them yet mine is still working? More like... what is he doing to them that is causing them to break?

We got ours shortly after launch, and the motor burned out about 3 months ago. We used it A LOT. Seriously, those things are literal bricks.

Haven't gotten a new one yet because Mr. Bells reeeallly wanted a 3DS.

I wanted a 3DS for a while myself, but played with one at a Gamestop, and felt sick at the sight of the 3D. "But you can turn it off!" I was told.

Well, if I am not going to use the 3D function, and I still play my GBA games...why not stick with my trusty old Joker-skinned Lite?

They tend to do that when they're thrown into the TV. Otherwise, do we *really* want to know?

Apparently the folks at your GAMESTOP didn't notice that slider on the right side of the top screen that can adjust the 3D from maximum to.. wait for it... this is a doozy and big info coming.... TURN IT OFF! Shocking info I know for someone at GAMESTOP to know how the products they sell work.

Considering the part you quoted actually mentions turning it off and the rest of the post is about how Tama doesn't see the point if they're not going to use the feature, I suspect that the local GameStore actually does know what their product.

You know, I am not a huge fan of the 3D function either, so I see your point. That being said, though, the little control stick it has is pretty freaking awesome. Also, there's the augmented reality stuff that comes with it. AND - it takes 3D pictures.

I woke up at like 3am a few nights ago to see Mr. Bells still sitting up playing his 3DS. "Why are you still up? Go to sleep!"

His reply: "But I just found 3D porn!"

Our Wii started dying about 4 months after we got it. Contacted the company and they were great. Paid for shipping, repair and return. Got it back in a week and it's worked fine since. We do have a base with a fan in it, though.

Whoops... I misread the earlier post as saying "can't turn it off." Guess I need new glasses.

Regardless Nintendo is going to be putting some good games out for the 3DS this year. Especially Mario Kart 3DS which is adding some cool stuff like underwater driving.
