Okay on Sunday i was watching the door, covering for the EG break and two managers stand by me. This tells me one thing shoplifters. I go to Self-Checkout to ask the cashier if she knows anything and she says in a sotto voice check out reg. 46, i look and two young ladies with a toddler are stealing socks and underwear, what they didi was they pickeup 3 packs and only scanned one and dropped all three into the bag , they did this 7 or 8 times that I saw. They also grabbed bags and bagged stuff directly from the belt, w/o paying for it. When they got done the managers asked for their reciept, (we only do this with people we know are shoplifting, people we witness doing the deed) and the two young ladies dash off, now here comes the worstr part they left the kid behind
, i walked outside wit h one of the managers and they jumped in a car and said go! go! Go! To their credit the people in the cars said no oway so they jumped in another car and took off. A CSM and our DG try to console the kid, who was, understaably upset. His mom came in and picked him up, she was atfirst upset with us because her "friends" said we detained the kid, but once the kid and we told her the real story she apologized and thanked for caring for her son. The two thieves were later stopped by the cops. According to the managers they had $400.00 worth of stuff, that they stole. Stealing is bad enough but leaving the kid. Damn. Oh, one of our CSMs knew both the thieves and one of the thieves actually left her purse behind, so they weren't the sharpest tacks in the drawer.
