I also want to rub the belly and scratch behind the ears. And after I'm done doing that, I want to pet Kisa's dog.

                  PUPPY!

Uh oh. Taz is looking at me rather indignantly.

I used to have a lot of scratch marks on my arms from Stumps (all healed now, alas).

One of my students looked at my arm one day and said, "You have a cat, don't you?"

Kisa, you look like quite the lovely lady. Ignore the foolish that say otherwise.

                        ...And remember, you're not short, you're fun-sized.

Kisa, you look very healthy. That guy's just a jerk.

One of my classmates donates plasma, so he has a lot of marks from that. Whenever he crosses the border, he says they always search his car and accuse him of being a druggie!

Not quite the same, but...once, my friend had taken her kid step-sister to the park. She was sitting on a bench, and a woman came out of nowhere and sat down and started lecturing her about teen pregnancy and how she should be ashamed! My friend explained it was her sister, not her daughter, and told that woman that either way she needed to mind her own damn business. I guess that woman turned ten shades of red and scurried out of there.

If you don't know the story, don't make assumptions! And mind your own business!

Heheh. I got similar tsk-ing once at Walmart when walking around with my baby sister. We're nine years apart, for the record. At the time, I was about sixteen, putting her at age 7 or so. She was still super-skinny then, and once I filled out around age 14, I started looking a few years older than I really was, so apparently it looked like I was her mother rather than her older sister. No one directly confronted me about it, but I did overhear one lady making disapproving noises about it.

That is, until we approached my mother, who did look her age (albeit shorter than my near-6'), and the lady turned red and scurried the other way.

This one happened to me. I have a 4 year old brother who I took to the pool one day. (he was 3 at the time) This woman came up to me and asked "How old is your son? He's so cute!"
                                "Umm....he's my brother"....
