Don't you know that to them you are (as posted in 1 of my stories) just "hired help" and that you are a lower life form and therefore they think this gives them the right to treat hard working employees like ourselves like shit?
You could ask them nicely to not do that, but of course all they gotta do is whine to the managers about you and you get into trouble. However, if you're pretty cool with the managers and are pretty sure they will have your back, then definitely go ahead and do that.

Back when I ran a Game Store, the corporate rule was that change must be given back in the same manner that it was given to you.

More than once, I had to back up an employee who placed the change back on the counter instead of into the hands of the customer after the customer did the exact same thing. They really didn't get far, since that was the corporate rule, and I made it clear that the customer was not their boss, it was ME.

(Yes, I probably still would have gotten mad if my employee threw change at a customer, even if it was thrown at them first)

Nothing personal here, but if someone threw change at me, they'd be picking my shoestrings out of their ass for days. Fuck the consequences.

I don't reccomend violence against customers, especially when calling the police gives the gratification of getting to see the SC run away scared or get hauled off by the police.
