Aperture Cable...they ought to have glAdOs handling the phone calls. XD

"What are you doing? You're not even calling the right number."

"I don't think you really know what you want."

"If you hang up now I'll send you cake."

"The timbres of your high-pitched nasaly mouth-noises has made the companion cube ill. It must now be humanely euthanized in the Aperture Science Emergency Intelligence Incinerator. It would rather die in a fire than listen to you any longer. Congratulations. Was it worth it?"

I think GlaDoS would be the best phone operator EVER. She'd probably make a great cashier, returns clerk and manager too. All the SC's of the world would quickly be put in their place. :3

Caving in to SC's will result in a dissatisfactory mark on your final test results, followed by death.

This. Even back home (in Chicago) being THIS blatant about back-scratching is generally frowned upon, and in most municipalities it is ILLEGAL to attempt to coerce or persuade a business for favors with your position in the government. Just call your ward or district - you wouldn't even have to bring your company into it, you could inform them as a concerned citizen.

I agree to this and what tropicsgoddess said about calling that person's supervisor. It's great when they do try to throw their weight around because you can easily come back with, "In that time that my manager will be back I'll certainly be placing a call to your supervisor to let them know about your inappropriate behavior. You have a nice day now!! (click)"

That should teach them not to throw titles around...

The problem there is customer confidentiality. If I call to his superiors and go into specifics, I lose my job, and he's not worth it.
Last I knew he was getting nothing more, anyway, and continues to be an asshat, so meh to him, I say!

You don't have to go into specifics beyond that he called you and made demands that you accommodate him and attempted to use his position to coerce you into doing what he wanted. You don't even need to tell them what service you provide, only that you are a customer service representative calling in with concerns about his abusing his professional position for personal gain.

Yes, that is better. I'm wondering how he might have reacted had Redbeard said, "I'm going to call the municipality to validate your title", then put the guy on hold.."
