    Little Miss High and Mighty

    *With thanks to Redbeard's 'Entitlement Jerk' for reminding me to post this story*

    Hi Everyone ,

    I had another encounter with an SC a few days ago, and I thought I'd share it with all you wonderful people

    So, my day is going quite smoothly, until a lady comes up to the till and says:

    SC: I'd like to see to a manager. (She says this extremely abruptly, without giving me a chance to say my usual spiel).

    Me: I'm sorry to hear that Ma'am, what exactly is this about?

    SC: *in a really snide and snobby tone* Oh, I don't have time to explain myself to the likes of you, get me a manager.

    Thus I, whilst gritting my teeth, find my manager, and explain to her that the customer wishes to speak to her for reasons unknown. Note that it also took me about 10 minutes to get her to come down because she was on the phone to corporate.

    So, after all this, what did Little Miss High and Mighty want? A refund on a DVD. Something that would have taken me all of a minute to do .

    If you think the world owes you something, at least give your issue some weight FFS

    Why stop at the manager? Go higher! Demand the area manager. NO! Demand the owners. NO! Demand the president/PM. NO! Demand herself! Yeah, clearly she has to ask herself for help as everyone else is clearly incapable.

    This is one of those times where I would pay to see the SC doing your job.

      I once had someone phone in and demand a manager without saying why. The reason? He just wanted a rate quote for a future date. The funny thing is, Manager was in her apartment, and didn't have access to that information back there. She told him to hang up and call me back and talk to me.

        If I had been your manager I would have given this SC a confused look and then told her in the most polite tone "I'm not sure why I was called down for this. LuckIsOnMySide handles refunds. Unless there is some other reason for me to be here, I should get back to my phone call. Have a good day Ma'am." Then again after how long I've worked retail, I have to admit that I enjoy deflating the egos of the self important SCs that I run into. The look on their faces when they realize that I'm very politely telling them that they are wasting my time is just fun to see. I guess that makes me a little bit of a bad person

          Exactly! Maybe then she'd stop looking down her nose at others .

          However, I'm 6 foot 2, so she wasn't able to literally do this to me...

                I would pay to see an SC do any job in customer service! A simple thing on refunding a DVD and she snubbed you?!

                  Many times I have been asked for a manager. I never say why. I just go get them, let them do the work for once ;D
                  Can't reason with the unreasonable.

                      Especially if the customer is yelling.

                        We once had a guy demand to talk to a supervisor, then a manager, then his manager, on up the chain.

                        The reason? He was insisting that running an ad for one week meant he could get 2 Sundays within that week. We tried explaining every way possible that there is only ONE of each day in a 7-day period, but he wasn't having it. "You're trying to cheat the public! I DEMAND to speak to the publisher! I'll sue!!!"

                        We did not transfer him to the publisher.
